More Minnesota News: Soldier Identified After 144 Years? Maybe . . . .
I like stories of this sort. Nearly a century and a half after the Battle of Gettysburg, the body of a Minnesota soldier killed there may have been discovered in a Confederate cemetery in Raleigh, North Carolina. Norway to End Occupation of Minnesota; Local Populace Outraged
The Government of Norway has announced plans to close its consulate in Minnesota, a move that has met with outrage among Norwegian colonists, er, uhm, Minnesotans. Norway says it’s a cost-cutting move, but that the consulates in New York, San Francisco, and Houston (?!) will remain open. About 17% of Minnesota’s population is of Norwegian descent.
