  • Brenda says:

I am African American, and I have ancestors by the surname “Chavers” from Sleepy Hollow South Carolina. They have relatives of the Lumbee Indians tribe, and some association with the Brayboy. My father’s middle name was Braboy and we were always told that he was names after a uncle of my grandmother who was a Chavers. I am still looking the the Chavers/Brayboy connection with would date back to 1860-70 – Sleepy Hollow or Barnwell South Carolina. Anyone have any information, I’d appreciate a headsup.
