In the last 40 years, I've been a a disc jockey, a broadcast journalist, a sportscaster, a military officer (retired Colonel, USAF), a lawyer, a judge, a state government executive, a lobbyist, a presidential appointee at a high level of federal government, a college professor, a law professor, an executive in the financial services field, and maybe a few other things that I've forgotten; none of this matters except that I will always be my mother's son. My ancestors were slaves and slave owners. All history is personal.
